Tax Policy

The traditional solution to IRS tyranny is a four point program.

First : Return the country to a foreign policy of non interventionism. If you are new to this argument it is relatively simple. No more undeclared wars. No more being the world policeman. Quit financing (bribing) dictatorial allies. Dismantle the 700+ overseas bases we have, bring our troops home and spend that money here in the US on 700 new bases. Put those bases along the southern border and stop the immigration problem.

Military adventurism never returns the cost of investment, and always eats up more taxes. Stop the adventurism and one gaping hole that we try to fill with tax dollars heals itself.

Second : Establish a true freed trade program, and inter react with foreign cultures as business partners not occupiers. When I was young we called this coca cola colonization.

Generally this is a faster road to peace than military adventurism because only fools fight with their business partners. But there are fools out there, so we keep up and improve our rapid response capability.

Third : currency stability. The founders wanted a hard asset currency system because they had lived through robbing hyper inflation. The history of our money shows that when we tie our currency to hard assets, the cost of living stabilizes.

We need to get away from the instability of Bank managed inflation. In a world without bank created inflation, people can save. Savings need a place to go earn more money. This means that moneys for business investment and development would expand greatly.

Fourth : Limit ed Government. If money is seeking a place to invest, politicians will offer to borrow those funds for public development, and in some cases this is a good thing., ie. moneys spent on infrastructure improvement. However, politicians have little restraint and what will happen when the funds are available is that government will grow until all the funds are consumed, and it will promise the stability of the taxpayer's wallet to back up its borrowing. This is the very reason we must limit the government to its constitutional duties.

In such a society the government is kept frugal, and the economic development is massive. The result is that income taxes are unneeded and the Internal aspects of the IRS unneeded. Unfortunately there is a bit of the "somewhere over the rainbow wearing rose colored glasses" aspect to this goal.

I think we should consider something that is both simpler and more daring. There appears to be a good legal argument that wage earners should only pay taxes on that portion of their earnings that exceed the cost of living for their family. Most families never reach that point and taxes would not be due if they were allowed to deduct the cost of living as determined by the commerce department for a family of their size from their wages.

Income taxes started out a a tax on the wealthy, not the working man, it could be that again. Simply making the average costs of living exempt from taxation would create a huge relief.

I have attached a legal brief on the subject. My tax attorney read it and went Hum? Download it and discuss it with your tax professional. I think it is something we should consider putting in effect.
